Introduction
In Virginia's tidal region, local governments are at the forefront of climate adaptation efforts, and face mounting challenges from the impacts of rising sea levels and recurrent flooding. In our work throughout Virginia, we have found that many communities lack the resources that they need to implement effective solutions.
This guide offers a Virginia-specific roadmap of current programs and regulatory tools that are designed to help local governments tackle these pressing challenges today.
The Sea Level Rise Adaptation Guide is part of Wetlands Watch’s ongoing effort to assemble a comprehensive suite of resources tailored to the needs of Virginia's communities.
As ever, we welcome suggestions for improving and expanding this guide.
