Board Bios
Ashley Montgomery
Ashley Montgomery is an Intersectional Designer whose design lens is focused on centering community and taking a transdisciplinary research approach to inform design decisions. She has built her career on working across silos to achieve impactful and adaptive designs that respond to cultural, physical, and the environmental context. Through her involvement as a member of Governor Ralph Northam’s Technical Advisory Committee for the Virginia Coastal Resilience Master Plan, she helped to develop resilient design strategies, policy recommendations and a framework for centering equity within development opportunities across the Commonwealth's communities. Ashley strongly believes in collaboration and sharing what you know and is a member of the Community Design Association and serves on the board for Wetlands Watch. Ashley is Director of Research and Design Strategy at Hanbury and holds a M.Arch from Hampton University.
